Conserve Plant 3d to Revit

Plant 3d to revit conversion

Your plant 3d model in Revit.
Without your team
rebuilding it.

We convert AutoCAD Plant 3D models into native, intelligent Revit models — with the spec, line numbers, sizes and tags intact. You send the model. We send back Revit.

See it for yourself

Same model. Same data. Both sides.

This is a real converted model — a backwash piping package taken straight from an AutoCAD Plant 3D project. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, and click any pipe, valve or fitting to read its line number, spec and tag, then switch between the two systems to watch that data carry straight across.

How it works

Four steps. Most of them are ours.

This is a delivered service, not a licence. Your team keeps working in the tools they already know while the conversion happens on our side.

01
Send the project
You — about 30 minutes
Share the project folder with its drawings, specs and catalogs. If your catalogs are custom, send those too — that is the norm, not a problem.
02
Agree the scope
Together — one short call
We confirm which areas to convert, the target version, and how items should be named to match your standards.
03
Convert and verify
Conserve
We run the conversion and check the result against the source — element counts, sizes, connectivity and data completeness — before anything is sent back.
04
Delivery and handover
Conserve
You receive the final files and a summary of what was converted. We walk your team through it so they can pick it up immediately.
What you receive

A Model your team can keep building on.

The converted model is a starting point, not an end point. Your teams carry on exactly as they would with anything they modelled themselves — developing it through design, fabrication and handover without rebuilding it first.

01
Ready for the next stage of design
Development continues from design intent, through fabrication detail, and on to as-built. The model moves forward with the project instead of being replaced at each stage.
02
Ready for coordination
Elements arrive connected and behaving normally, so clash detection, federation and design reviews can run against it the same day it lands.
03
Ready for quantities and procurement
Sizes, materials, specs and tags come across as real information, so takeoffs and cost planning are drawn from the model rather than re-measured by hand.
04
Ready for the next project
You also receive a reusable component library built from your own standards. Later conversions and future projects start from it.
What you receive

A Revit model your team can actually work with.

Not a linked reference, not an imported solid, not a picture of a plant. Native Revit elements that schedule, tag, filter and clash exactly like work modelled in Revit from the start.

01
Native Revit model
A working .rvt in the Revit version your project runs on, with elements placed as real families rather than imported geometry.
02
Connected piping systems
Elements join into working systems and follow their line numbers, so flow, filtering and clash checks all behave normally.
03
Engineering data intact
Spec, line number, service, size, pressure class and tags arrive as Revit parameters — schedulable, taggable and ready for takeoff.
04
Matched family library
A reusable Revit family library built from your own piping specs and catalogs, including custom company catalogs.
01
DWG File Format
Export the Plant3D Model as a BXF file using BIMDeX Plant3D Exporter
02
ZEX File Format
The ZEX file carries all the design data information from the model.
03
RVT File Format
Import the BXF file inside Revit using BIMDeX Revit Importer
Who this is for

Three teams, one problem, seen from different sides.

EPC Contractors

Your piping and building teams work in different tools on the same project. This removes the manual bridge between them and keeps every re-issue current.

Interoperability

Design Consultants

You receive plant models you did not author and have to federate them in Revit. Get them as native elements instead of rebuilding or referencing dead geometry.

Native Geometry

Owners and Operators

Your asset data has to survive design and reach handover complete. Keep spec, tag and line information attached to the model that becomes your record.

Asset Preservation

Start with one drawing

Send us a model. See the result before you commit.

Pick one area of one project and send it over. We convert it, show you exactly what came across, and you decide from there. No licence, no installation, no commitment.
