- Design and Construction Stage LEED Facilitation
Project Summary
Conserve Solutions was appointed by consultant to facilitate both design and construction stage LEED certification for the Tram Depot, a stabling and maintenance facility for Qatar tram network within Doha. This facility holds the distinction of being the first LEED Platinum certified commercial interior project in Qatar, earning an outstanding score of 87 out of 110 points, surpassing its original Gold target.
Key sustainability features included enhanced energy performance with EC motors for fan coil units, efficient HVAC controls, lighting power density well below ASHRAE 90.1 standards, demand control ventilation, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, and comprehensive sub-metering systems. The project also achieved maximum points in bonus categories such as Innovation and Regional Priority.
The tram depot supports three electric, self-powered, air-conditioned TIG/m trams, contributing to Qatar’s vision for smart sustainable urban mobility and reduced carbon emissions.
This project is a landmark in Qatar’s sustainable urban development, demonstrating Conserve Solutions’ leadership in green building consultancy and certification facilitation for complex infrastructure projects.
